Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Pencil VS Lakme Eyeconic Kajal !!! 👁😃

Now, as we all know, any make up look is incomplete without a good kajal. What??? W8 a minute... hmmmm.. Actually even without make up, any look is incomplete without a kajal. Yes!!! You & Me, we both know the power of a kajal 💪.

And dats exactly why I decided to do a comparison review of the new Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in the shade Glazed Toffee & the not so new 😜 Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in the shade Brown.

Now, u guys may be wondering why am I reviewing the brown shades. Honestly guys, I'm bored of wearing black ones 🙄. Brown Kajals are way more subtle & soft, and can still give a lottt of definition to the eyes... & dats exactly why I love them! 🤗

So, if you guys want to know :-
which one out of the two is better,
which one is worth the money,
& most importantly, WHICH ONE IS APPROVED BY THE WORLD OF PRETTY THINGS,😜 then please keep on reading.. 😉

HOW TO APPLY -

Maybelline Gel Pencil -

➤Apply the lasting drama gel along upper lash line.

➤For added drama, line lower lash line. 

Lakme Eyeconic - 

➤On the upper lid, draw a neat stroke, starting from inner corner of the eye & extending outwards.

➤Repeat on lower lid.

(Come on Maybelline & Lakme , we all know how to apply kajal/eye pencil..🙄 Tell us something new... 😐)

Any ways, let's see 

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE 2 PRODUCTS -

PACKAGING -

                           

                                                            

Maybelline -  As you can see from the picture above, it comes in this thick simple outer packaging, just like any other kajal/eyepencil. The pencil's body has got the color of the gel eyeliner, which makes it quite easy to distinguish gel pencil if u own more than one. It is not a twisting type pencil & hence you have to sharpen it. (But it doesn't come with a sharpner 😔). It comes with a thick, transparent outer cap which is quite sturdy, and this makes it very much travel friendly.

                           

                     

Lakme - This also comes in a thick usual eye pencil packaging & u have to tear along the dotted line behind & take the product out. The pencil's body and cap is black in color (except for the white one), and the shade name is written at the bottom of the pencil as u can see in the picture below..


                                                             

This definitely makes it difficult to distinguish the shades if you have more than one like I do. But the best part is, its twisting type & so there is no need of sharpening & hence no product wastage at all 😃👍. The cap is quite sturdy, and hence this is also  travel friendly.

Overall, the main difference btwn the two in the Packaging part is that, the Maybelline one has got color coding, while the Lakme one doesn't have.

But the Lakme one is of twisting type & hence no product wastage while the other one has to be sharpened & so lots of product wastage. 😕

SHADE & PIGMENTATION - 

Maybelline Gel Pencil (Glazed Toffee) - 

As the name suggests, its a very natural, dark toffee shade. Its highly pigmented & trust me guys, just 2 swipes is more than enuf!🙆

This doesn't have any shimmer and this can be used to create smokey eye too as it gives off a satiny finish.

Lakme Eyeconic Pencil (Brown) - 

Its a matte dark chocolate brown color. Its decently pigmented and 3-4 swipes gives the maximum color pay off. This also doesn't have any shimmer. But this can't be used in smokey eye as it will be difficult to blend since its a little thicker in consistency than the maybelline one.

TEXTURE & QUALITY - 

Maybelline Gel Pencil -  I'm in luv with the texture of this one as this is smooth, creamy & silky. Its glides in the upper lash line & water line like butter 😍. Its veryyy easy to draw & doesn't irritate the eyes at all. It doesn't have any shimmer & gives off a velvety, satin finish.

Lakme Eyeconic Pencil - Its soft & creamy, but not as much as the maybelline one. It also glides in the eye smoothly, but again... not as much as the maybelline one. It doesn't irritate my eyes & gives off a matte finish. 😃

STAYING POWER - 

Maybelline Gel Pencil - It stayed easily without smudging for 7-8 hours in my eyes (even though i have watery eyes..). They claim it will last for 16 hours, bt come on guyz, who is gonna wear make up for dat long?? 😄

It didn't come off with water. But then I used an oil based make up remover & it came off easily.😃

Lakme Eyeconic Pencil - It stayed on my eyes for about 4-5 hours, after which it started to smudge from the outer corner of my eyes. They claim it will last for 10 hours, bt again... come on guyz, I don't wear make up for dat long.. 😆

This one also didn't come off with water, but I cud smudge it easily. I used the oil based make up remover & it came off easily.😃

👍PROS - 

Maybelline Gel Pencil -

- Travel friendly packaging.

- Color coded packaging.

- Good shade range.

- Smooth & Creamy texture.

- Satiny, Velvety finish.

- Well pigmented.

- Can be used for creating smokey eye.

- Water proof, Smudge proof, Transfer proof.

- 6-7hours of staying power in waterline.

- Doesn't irritate the eyes.

Lakme Eyeconic Pencil -

- Cheap.

- Travel friendly.

- Decent shade range.

- Smooth texture.

- Matte finish.

- Decently pigmented.

- Waterproof, Transfer proof, Smudge proof.

- 4-5hours of staying power in waterline.

- Doesn't irritate the eyes.

👎CONS - 

Maybelline Gel Pencil -

- Expensive.

- Sharpening the pencil leads to product wastage.

- No sharpener provided with the pencil.

Lakme Eyeconic Pencil -

- Packaging is not Color coded.

- Can't be used as an eyeshadow.

- 10 hour claim not true.

OVERALL VERDICT :- 

Honestly, I like both the eye pencils. But if you ask me to pick one, I'll pick the Maybelline Gel Pencil.

I wud give Maybelline Gel Pencil a 4.8/5 rating & for the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal, I wud give a 
4.2/5 rating.

The major difference between the two lies in the Quality & Cost.

Maybelline has better quality, & hence more pricey.💁

But if you are on a budget, then you can definitely go with the Lakme Eyeconic one. It is good & definitely worth the money. 

But... lets face it guys....  Maybelline wins the battle. 😃👍

So, now comes THE Question........😛

WHICH OF THESE TWO IS APPROVED TO THE ''WORLD OF PRETTY THINGS'' ??? 😉

                  Definitely the MAYBELLINE GEL EYE PENCIL!!! Yaeee!!! 👏😃🎈🎉
